By downloading or using Scirocco (“the App”) and/or visiting the website at https://scirocco.app (“the Website”), you agree to these Terms of Use.
Scirocco is a boating companion for iOS and Android: navigation with GPS tracks, waypoints and routes, marine weather forecasts, and records of your vessels, maintenance, insurance and documents. The data you create stays on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy.
The free version of the App shows advertising and has limits on some features. Scirocco Pro removes the advertising and the limits. It is offered as optional auto-renewable subscriptions:
A free trial may be offered to new subscribers. The price, the trial length and the billing period are shown in the App before you confirm the purchase. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and is charged automatically.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID (App Store) or Google account (Google Play) at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time from your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Purchases are governed by the Apple Media Services Terms or the Google Play Terms of Service, depending on where you bought the subscription.
Scirocco is a navigation aid, not a certified nautical chart system. It does not replace official charts, instruments and publications required on board, nor the judgement of the person in command of the vessel.
Weather and sea forecasts come from numerical models and may be inaccurate or out of date. Before going out, always check the official marine bulletins and the local harbour authority ordinances.
GPS positions, tracks, distances and fuel estimates depend on your device and may contain errors.
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damage arising from the use of the App, including damage to people, vessels or property resulting from navigation decisions, inaccurate forecasts or positions, or loss of data stored on the device.
All content, design, and code of the App and the Website are the property of Simone Ruggiero, except for the third-party data listed above. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App or the Website without written permission.
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
